What We Do
Through our fundraising and volunteer outreach efforts, we:
- Fund Grants: We pay for various programs and activities to enrich our school and the learning experience for our students—as well as provide teachers with extra resources and opportunities that don’t fit into the regular school budget. The PCPA typically awards over $10,000 per school year in grants and other funding.
- Run In-School Programs: We provide volunteers, funding, and other support for programs and events such as the 4th grade celebration, 1st Grade Fun Day, Book Fairs, and Visiting Authors and Artists.
- Provide Teacher Support: We pay for the subscription to Ruth’s Reusable Resources, facilitate teacher appreciation events, classroom connectors, and assist with Kindergarten screening day(s).
- Monthly Newsletter: We send out a newsletter at least once a month to help parents stay informed about PCPA events, volunteer and fundraising opportunities, school news, and other happenings in the community. If you have an announcement you would like to include in the newsletter’s community announcements section, please reach out to hello@capepcpa.org 7 days prior to the end of each month. We reserve the right to decline requests that are for-profit, inappropriate, or do not align with the PCPA’s mission statement.
GRANTS & GRADE LEVEL FUNDS
In keeping with its mission to enrich, support and enhance the social and learning environment of Pond Cove School, the PCPA supplies both grade level funds and teacher grants. These funds pay for educational projects, field trips, visiting artists, or tools/equipment that benefit students but are not afforded through the school budget. The PCPA discusses and votes on grant funding at our monthly meetings. Teachers, you can find the grant application HERE.
The generosity of the members of the Pond Cove Parents’ Association (that’s you!) together with the innovation of our great educators make an enormous impact on our school.
