2025 Community & Culture Night – Thank You!

We are so thankful to Shukria Wiar and Eliza Matheson for all the work they did to organize this past Thursday’s Community & Culture Night! It was a wonderful evening of community-building, culture-sharing, and eating delicious food—much needed in this time of uncertainty. Thank you to all who participated!

“This event couldn’t have happened without so many people stepping forward to participate, so thank you(!!) to: all of the families for sharing their wonderful food and culture with us, Katie Lydon and son Ben for all the help with getting flags ready and set up before the event, Drew Swayze and daughter Audra for the help with set up, custodial staff for all their support and help before and after, Mr. Shields for letting us use his boom box, Ms. Marcus and the CEMS Civil Rights team for having an amazing activity (Bingo!) and free I’m Your Neighbor Books as prizes, and to Ms. Kozaka for setting up a reading nook for friends of all ages to settle in for a good read!” —Eliza
