In keeping with its mission to enrich, support and enhance the social and learning environment of Pond Cove School, the PCPA offers Teacher Grants. These grants fund educational projects or tools that benefit students but are not afforded through the school budget.
Parents and guardians of Pond Cove students, as members of the PCPA, are invited to attend the twice-yearly meetings (December/MARCH) where grant funding is discussed and put to vote. The exact dates and times of these meetings will be posted on the PCPA Meeting Calendar. PCPA Meeting Calendar.
In the 2012-2013 school year the PCPA approved nearly $7,000 in grants. Past years’ grants have included drummer Annegret Bayer, a 2nd-grade field trip to the Telling Room, books for a family book discussion, 4th grade basket-making, visiting author Scott Nash, Running at Recess Program, visit from a bookmaker for all PC grades, field trip to see The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs, and much more. Grants have ranged from as little as $40 to as much as $5,000.
The generosity of the members of the Pond Cove Parents’ Association (that’s you!) together with the innovation of our great educators make an enormous impact on our school.
