PCPA Meeting Calendar

We meet in the Pond Cove Cafetorium at 9:00 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month (with the exception of vacation weeks and/or when otherwise noted). Our first meeting of the 2010-2011 school year will be September 22, 2010. Young children are welcome.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding PCPA meetings, please don't hesitate to contact co-presidents Janelle Deschino or Katie Gillespie. They want to hear from you!!

2009–2010 Meeting summaries:

  • Wednesday September 23, 2009 – We had great attendence with many new faces. Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm and ideas. View minutes.
  • Wednesday October 18, 2009 – This meeting was filled with passion, spirit, thoughtfulness, and a great heady debate around the evolving role of the PCPA with the changing economic climate. View minutes.
  • Wednesday November 18, 2009 – Again, we had a great group and it was an efficient and informative meeting. A primary topic of conversation was learning more about how the school is spending the money donated by the PCPA, in particular that from the Scholastic Book Fair. Many classrooms are thrilled to be receiving smartboards and Mrs. B went right to the Scholastic catalog to order some desperately-needed books for the Media Center. View minutes.
  • Wednesday January 20, 2010 – Our first meeting of 2010 was longer than usual as the group – including several new faces – engaged in lengthy discussions around a number of mini-grant proposals and how to distribute the money we still have to give fairly and thoughtfully. Despite the fact that the PCPA doesn't have enough money to cover all the shortfalls Pond Cove is facing due to the budget cuts, it was a heartening meeting in that it was clear that every person in the room felt invested in the decisions on the table and making the most of what we can give.
