The Jean Lavallee Award

Each spring we honor a 'graduating' parent with the Jeans' Team Award to acknowledge his or her unsung efforts over the years.

The award is named for its first recipient, Jean Lavellee, who made an enormous impact on the school with her creative spirit and tireless energy.

2009 Jean Lavallee Award Winners

The PCPA is proud to honor Tricia Wasserman and Suzanne McGinn with the 2009 Jean Lavallee award!!! Congratulations to two extraordinary women who have gone above and beyond to help our children at Pond Cove.

Suzanne McGinn worked tirelessly with other parents, teachers and local businesses to bring Natureland — Pond Cove's new outdoor nature classroom — to life. She played a pivotal role in making Arts Day an enormous success over the years. She also took countless groups of kids to Robinson's Woods, spent hour upon hour in the classrooms, and helped organize dozens of dances, auctions and other school celebrations.

Tricia Wasserman gave hundreds of hours to improve the wellness of our children. She served as the PCPA representative to the Pond Cove Climate Control Committee, working tirelessly to improve they way our children eat, the way they treat each other and how they feel about themselves. She helped transform the school into a bingo parlor, a beach, and a hall of research projects, And she has served at least one thousand scoops of ice cream.
